New article writing contest

Good news! We shall have a new article writing contest. Here are the details:

Rules and regulations:

* Contest starts Monday, 10-May-2010 and ends Sunday, 16-May-2010.
* Any registered member can participate in the contest.
* The article could be on any topic of choice.
* A member can post as many articles as s/he wishes.
* All threads must be submitted in the section Contests.
* Article must have a minimum 200 words. These words do not include proper names, pronouns, articles, prepositions, suppositions, conjunctions, interjections, etc. If you are unaware of these grammatical word classifications, please take a look in Google or Wikipedia.
* Plagiaristic copying from another site will be permitted, EVEN IF THAT IS FROM YOUR OWN BLOGS. We have no way of confirming on this and hence any plagiarized content will be deleted by moderators.
* Jokes, suggestions, complaints, news of any kind, reviews of any kind (gadgets, movies, software, etc.) are not permitted unless you can write your own opinion on a news item.
* Your personal views, opinions, experience, etc. are important. Please do not simply duplicate content using your own words. Such threads will be deleted without explanation.
* For example, you can write on your experiences of a travel destination. That will not be considered as a review. But if such an article consists of places to see, hotel rate cards, etc. only, moderators will disqualify it.

Judging

* Forum Admins/Mods will nominate a max of 15 articles out of the entire batch for the specific contest.
* List will be published.
* The same people (admin/mods) will judge the entries. Judgment will be based on:
o Originality of thoughts
o Writing style
o Spelling and Grammar
o Use of humour, anecdotes, examples, etc.
o Subject selection and relevance to forum

Prize

* Best article: Rs. 5,000/-
* 2nd best article: Rs. 2,500/-
* Maximum nominations for a person: Rs. 1,250/-

So start preparing and submit as many articles as you like. But remember to submit them in the Contests section ( http://www.indiabroadband.net/contests/ )only. After the contest is over, all (good) threads will be moved to proper sections.
