What is harm in celebrating 'Valentine's day' ?




 

 

 

Rethink before celebrating Valentine's Day ! 'Valentine's day' – Cultural conversion of Hindus ! What is the harm in celebrating 'Valentine's day' ? There is no scientific or cultural basis to celebrating this day. Valentine, the 'saint', was himself involved in anti-national acts during his time, how can then one get any benefit by celebrating this day in his name ? The western culture provides for placing parents in 'old age homes' and then superficially celebrates Mother's Day' and Father's Day for a day ! So is the case with 'Valentine's day'. Can true love be superficial and limited to just one day ? In Bhartiya culture, we have plenty of festivals to express love for each other; and this is also an intrinsic part of our lives. Many western countries do not celebrate this day. The calendar of 'Roman Catholic Saints' was prepared in 1969; 'Valentine's Day' was not included in the general Roman calendar either. If this were so, why should we give unnecessary importance to this day in our Bharat ? A direct physical attack from outside is visible; but cultural invasions are very difficult to notice, and sometimes it even becomes difficult to defend ourselves from its evil results. Distribute pamphlets (such as this) to prevent the celebration of 'Valentine's Day' ! Display banners or boards in your area with such content ! Lodge protests with companies that manufacture greeting cards promoting 'Valentine's Day' ! Through personal visits, over the telephone or other constitutional means, lodge protests with colleges who give silent consent to celebrating 'Valentine's Day' !
