Dear Kundapur Govardhana Kini, |
This actually happened. Just before wishing my team a happy weekend, I asked them (there were 6 of them at the time) a simple question. "Let us say you had a windfall, or may be someone gifted you Rs. 5,000. Now, what would you do with the money?" |
Now, real people when asked a real question give down to earth replies. Some of them were quick to say that they would simply book two tickets in a multiplex and watch a movie with some snacks for company! Actually, that's what many would, isn't it? |
A couple of them however said that they would save it for a rainy day; put it in a cupboard in that favourite space, where some more money is lying. |
Of the six I asked, there were two who talked about investing the money. Their reasoning? Once they do so, there will be still more to spend after it fetches returns. Now that's interesting alright. But what's more interesting is that people can fall into 3 distinct buckets i.e. savers (the ones who used the cupboard), spenders (the ones who used the multiplex) and investors (the ones who would seek returns so that there was more to spend tomorrow). |
Interesting, isn't it? (That the spender can be the investor only). Investors are actually postponing today's spending for a better spending opportunity tomorrow! |
So much for the moral science tonality in talks of investing. |
But now let me ask you the same question: |
If you had a windfall of Rs. 5,000, what would you do? Just click on the applicable choice from the three below, and see what is on offer - the avenues you can possibly use. |
|
Now when you clicked on one of these above, you would have landed on an ICICIdirect.com page which offers products to suit your specific risk profile. |
So now whenever you want to plan what to do with your money, do browse ICICIdirect.com which has more than simple trading and research on offer. When you do so, you would find a wealth of tools and calculators. In fact, you can buy several products online. You really can. So log in and start exploring ICICIdirect.com. If you have forgotten your user id or password, here is how you get it easily. Click here. |
May I suggest something? Just pose the same question that I asked the six people, to some people you know. And take joy in sharing this knowledge. |
Is a windfall around the corner? |
Yours sincerely, |
