Election day is here - GO OUT AND VOTE!

The BBMP elections are here finally! Get ready to elect your Ward Corporator this Sunday - 28th March 2010, and play your role in improving the governance in Bangalore.

In order to vote in these elections, your name must be on the voter's list.

     •  If you were registered to vote for 2009 Loksabha elections, check the voter list
    •  If you registered recently (after May 2009), check the latest supplement of the voter
        list click here.

Make sure you note down your serial number and polling station address before Election Day itself.

Please remember that your name must be on the voter list for you to cast your vote whether you have a voter ID card or not. If you haven't been issued a voter ID card, you can vote with any other valid photo ID card.

It is important that you make an informed choice on Election Day:

   • Read the party manifestos here – BJP, Congress, JD(S)
   • To know more about your candidates, click here to check the affidavit details (education,
assets, criminal records) of the candidates contesting from your ward.

Janaagraha brings to you a UNIQUE citizen reporting system where you can report any election irregularities like name not found on list, proxy voting, violence at polling booth or any other incidents violating laws. You can report it online or by email to report@janaagraha.org  or just SMS "kiirti jana {your message}" to 56677.

Finally, make sure that you get at least 5 of your neighbours to go out and vote along with you!
